Elwyn Parry Ryder Cup 2026

The Elwyn Parry Ryder Cup returned to St Athan Golf Club, with Paul Dobbins' Combined Services team looking to take the trophy back from Darren Thomas' Civilians after last year's narrow defeat.

The morning session saw eight foursomes matches, and it was the Civilians who made the better start. By the lunch break they had built a commanding 6–2 lead, leaving the Combined Services with a significant gap to close over the afternoon.

Sixteen singles matches followed, and to their credit the Combined Services came out fighting. They took the afternoon session 9 points to 7 — the better side on the day over eighteen holes — but the morning's deficit proved too much to overhaul.

The Civilians held on to win 13 points to 11, retaining the trophy for another year. Congratulations to Darren Thomas and his team, and commiserations to Paul Dobbins' side, who will no doubt fancy their chances of turning it around next time.

Thanks to everyone who played, and to all those who helped organise the day.
